Establishing relations with international academic organizations and foundations is one of the academy's most important strategic undertakings. The main goals of cooperation are:
1- Using the experience of international foundations to help the African countries do a better job of awarding research grants.
2- Helping the African research establishment become better at appraising the results of science and technology projects and programs, including initiatives in innovation.
3- Recruiting international experts to rate research-grant proposals.
4- Forming partnerships with international grant-making organizations to try to create more joint research projects between international researchers. The aim is to better integrate African researchers into the world scientific community.
